J. Murrey Atkins Library is excited to announce the launch of our new resource sharing and document delivery service, Rapido. Resource sharing and document delivery (also known as interlibrary loan) are free services available to all active UNC Charlotte faculty, staff, and students to request physical and electronic materials from other libraries.
Atkins Library’s Interlibrary Loan unit is recognized on campus for its fast and efficient delivery of materials. Our priority is to make the process of discovering and obtaining resources as transparent and straightforward as possible for students, faculty, and staff.
With Rapido, users can select where to order resources based on availability and delivery time, and they can easily track the status of their requests from start to finish. The system eliminates unnecessary steps by integrating seamlessly with the library catalog—no separate account is required. Everything happens in one place: searching, requesting, and tracking.
Rapido also connects users to a growing network of resource-sharing partners, expanding access to materials beyond traditional limits. Most importantly, it brings transparency to the process, allowing users to see precisely where their requests stand. Designed for faculty, staff, and students, Rapido makes resource sharing easier, faster, and more intuitive than ever before.
“Atkins Library is committed to providing exceptional service and improving access to resources,” said Shelly Bloise, Resource Development & Access Librarian. “We’re excited to launch Rapido, a new resource sharing system that allows our users to discover and request materials from participating libraries more seamlessly and efficiently. This implementation strengthens the library’s ability to support research and teaching across the university.”
Atkins Library begins using Rapido in December. For more information, please contact interlibraryloan@charlotte.edu.
