Title: Yeboahkrom Clinic Build
When: 12:30pm – 1:30pm, Monday, October 23, 2017
Where: Storrs Salon
Originally conceived as Weft 2017, a team of volunteers (many from UNCC) were invited to Abetenim, Ghana to build an earth construction artist-in-residence center. After a few weeks, we were forced to abandon Weft (concept, site, and all) due to political issues in the village. We were invited to a neighboring village named Yeboahkrom where we received a warm welcome and a request to provide a clinic building. The workshop became about balancing necessities, flexibility, and design, in order to create pleasant architecture.
