We are responsible for maintaining an inventory of the artwork owned by or on long-term loan to UNC Charlotte. This collection encompasses thousands of works found throughout the grounds and buildings of both the main campus and Center City.
The University Art Collection has ancient and modern pieces by local and international artists, in a variety of media, including:
- Paintings
- Prints
- Woodcarvings
- Ceramics
- Photographs
- Steel and stone sculptures
- Textiles
Works by such notable artists as Nicholas Roerich, Giovanni Battista Piranesi, as well as both Andrew and NC Wyeth can be found in our collections. Artists with a connection to UNC Charlotte are also in our collection, including Maud Gatewood and Gail Haley.
