Hi All,
Here’s a quick update about Area 49. We are now fully open, and we even have a name change that you probably won’t be surprised about!
First, here are our hours:
Area 49 Desk: M-F, 8am-9pm, Sat. & Sun. 11am-7pm
Makerspace: M-F, 10am-4pm
Second, as you might have guessed from what I called it above, the Technology Support Desk is now the Area 49 Desk! It will take everyone a while to remember to call it that (just like I’m still writing 2021 everywhere), but we’re excited about the change. We’re hoping that this will help users realize that it is the main service point for Area 49, rather than a service point for OneIT.
Thomas has been working with Chris to change every remaining instance of “Technology Support Desk” on the website and other materials (Thanks!), so if you see anywhere that still has the old name, please email Thomas (tcrocke2@uncc.edu) to let him know.
