Atkins Library lends technology and equipment at three service points: the Atkins Library Circulation Desk, Area 49, and the Architecture Library.
If you are a student, faculty, or staff member you may check out equipment at the Architecture Library for those all important reviews, presentations, and performances. Note: if you are a faculty or staff member, please know that while you can check out equipment from the Architecture Library, students take priority when supply is low. Please reach out to Garrett Shepperd (the library supervisor) for more information regarding this topic.
Available Equipment

Equipment available to all of the university community for use in the library are:
- A printer/copier
- Five Mac desktops
- Two Dell desktops
- Multiple scanners
- A cutting mat
- Two light boxes
- Two large format paper cutters
Borrowing Equipment
Technology and equipment can be borrowed by all UNC-Charlotte affiliates for 24 hours. Equipment available for checkout are:
- Portable Smart TVs (screen sizes include 55 inch and 65 inch)
- Portable desktop scanners
- Digital cameras
- Digital video cameras
- Projectors
- Photography lights
- Backdrop cloths (assorted colors)
- Tripods
- Various accessories from adapters, to tripod mounting plates, to extension cords!
Overdue fines apply.
What to Know about Using, Borrowing, & Reserving Equipment
All guests who borrow equipment are expected to treat the items with care, and to return them in their entirety and in the original packaging given upon checkout. Returning equipment in poor shape, or without the original packaging is not acceptable. Please remember as well that equipment is loaned out on a first come first served basis, except within certain extenuating circumstances.
