- Students can borrow laptops from Atkins library for 7 days
- Laptops can be renewed up to two times in person, over the phone (704-687-0491), by email (circdesk@charlotte.edu),through your My Library Account or the Library Mobile app for a maximum loan period of 21 days
- After returning a laptop that has been renewed twice, a 24 hour wait period is required before borrowing another laptop
- Overdue laptops will begin accruing a daily overdue fine of $10 after a grace period of three days
- A courtesy notification is sent to your UNC Charlotte email address three days before your borrowed item is due
- All notifications are sent to your university email address
- The library laptop lending program supplements rather than replaces the student-supplied personal computer.
- Library laptops are intended for short term needs including when you leave your own device at home at home, your laptop it is being repaired, or you need software like Respondus for an immediate need
- You will need to make sure you move all documents and data you may have saved on the library laptop to another device or the cloud before you return to Atkins
- To keep your personal information safe, IT erases user data and files once a laptop is returned
